Last Friday, I had a casual ladies' chat with my colleagues just before knocking off work. Our topic revolves around relationships, marriage and giving birth.

This colleague of mine had just completed her PHD in Aust, and is back to serve her 3 years study bond in singapore as she is a malaysian. Her boyfriend is a caucasian and is in aust now. They have just started their relationship 2 months ago. We can sense her insecurity since it is difficult to maintain a long distance relationship. She is quite depressed since she is already 30 years old and long to settle down with a guy whom she can have a shoulder to lean on. She told us that she do not harbour high hopes of this relationship working out, probably due to a failed 5 years relationship before this one. We, outsiders cannot do anything but just told her 先看吧. She told us tat “不同人有不同命啊",and sometimes she tot of just getting anyone and get married. When she say tis, the rest of us just got stunned. haha. No, wat i believe is that if the correct man comes along, who is able to care for you and both of you have a lot to share with each other, be it same topics or interests..then marriage is on the way. Marrying a man who you have nothing to talk to each other abt, is a torture. I will rather stay single and happy.

So we move on to another colleague, who had just married this month. She is abt 28 years old. The following sentence which she said is reali true, which all of us agreed rite away.."It is important that the 2 persons are able to receive and interpret correctly each other signals, in order for a relationship to blossom". She told us tat although she is already married, she still dun feel a need for 男人。haha, but since she is lucky enuff to find the correct man and she reali likes children, she got married :) Finding the correct man and not the perfect man..ya

And so its on the nxt colleague, same age as me, had a boyfren for 2 years. She seldom talk abt her bf, but can c tat this relationship is stable. She is the 贤妻良母type, able to cook and handle housework very well. She say that its stil some time before marriage :)Her boyfriend is her fren's fren, which the rest agreed is good as she can see a different side of him besides in schools, workplace or when with her.

So its my turn to be discussed, haha. I told them that my future is bleak, the past plain as paper..haha..One asked me 如果对的人来了,will you accept?since it is the correct age now..yup..i nodded.

A rather good conversation with my colleagues, one which we can know more abt each other and encourage each other in the process or even 点醒 how fortunate some of us are.

Back from Hongkong!Like the trip a lot. Get to see and experience a different culture from Singapore. An impression I got of Hongkong from this trip is that, its a place packed with people, a lot of vehicles, streets full of handsome guys, rather polluted air and mesmerising night scene.

Landed in Hongkong on Tuesday morning, walked around ladies' market and proceeded down to Tsim Sha Tsui for the avenue of stars. The weather was super cold that night. The landscape of the area...

Next day, we took the MTR to lantau island for to see the Big Buddha. Had a bumpy ride on the bus up and down the mountains before we reached there. I must say that you will not regret going there, coz you will be taken in by the huge Buddha in front of you.

At night, we moved on to the Peak, by taking the peak tram up. So impressed by the tram, which is sometimes inclined at more than 45 degrees up and down the peak. The scene of Hongkong at the peak was breathtaking

The madam tussade is at the peak, guess wat, I took a picture with Lee Kuan Yew there!haha...

The 3rd day..off to disneyland! Got to take picture with my favorite character, pooh bear.

The christmas lightings of the castle was beautiful..

The last day, we moved on to Wong Tai Sin temple and do our last minute shopping at Mongkok. Say goodbye to HongKong on Saturday morning. The sight on the plane was equally breathtaking.

The sky was so clear that you can see the land far below..

Some cultures of Hongkongers...they will wash their utensils in chinese tea first before using. They stand on the right instead of the left on escalators, allowing ppl to pass quickly on the left. They seldom sms, unlike us..guess its because its difficult to write in cantonese. Their shopping centres only open at 1pm..they open till late at night. Their street markets only completely open at 3pm. Their MTR is really much efficient than MRT in Singapore..intervals of trains at only 2mins. They will inform you which side the door will open at the next station. All of them speak cantonese..but they will communicate with you in Chinese once you speak to them in chinese, the older generation cannot though.

I will upload the photos soon onto flickr and share with you all :)

Finally have time to blog on a Saturday morning. The past few weeks had been rather busy but satisfying. Just last Sunday, me and my colleagues went to sentosa to play frisbee and volleyball. Haven't been there for long and it has changed so much, I m so sua gu..haha. The ang moh colleague is on leave this week, n I had to do his work. So shacked, imagine having to do purity testing on 30 samples, each to weigh accurately a certain mass into the volumetric flask and topping up with solvents. At the end of the day, my lab bench had an army of volumetric flasks.

And this Sunday is the BIG day of my 2 colleagues, who happen to hold their weddings on the same day. So some of us will first go to the cocktail reception of 1 colleague, then move on to the other for dinner. So happy for them :)

Next week from 4th to 8th Dec I will be on leave...off to HongKong with my sister, brother and my xiao yi. Finally gg somewhere outside Singapore.. to explore and "reboot" myself. Quite a hasty decision, just planning this 1 mth ago..haha. Now I stil dun hav a luggage..gg to buy 1 with my bro later.

Notice this beautiful rainbow at buona vista a few weeks ago when my father came to fetch me after my work, 1 week after my grandmother passed away. I was thrilled and moved as it has been years since i saw it.

This picture is a gift to my ah ma. Her death is rather sudden, although she had been sick for years. I believe she is now safe and with my ah gong :)
