A depressing and shocked week. Everything was normal on Monday. I even discussed with my group leader of my dilemma, whether to accept the job offer or stay on in this company. I was about to remain there..and was happy that i can share with my colleagues my jap trip. We met up with our ex-colleague after work that day..lucky we did or else it will be hard to arrange another one le..The most beautiful photo we had, where everyone smiled so naturally..huiling our ex-colleague on the far right.
Tuesday..the big bomb dropped on us..We had a hunch abt this..but never thought it will happen so quickly. Management ppl discussed behind close doors. 7 ppl to be retrenched. My gp leader told me to accept the job offer. In the photo above, me and the guy terence left. Only 1 in the photo remained in the company..who is supposed to be retrenched also..but dunno why never happen. Sad and disapponted. Zhaowei, my best friend in the company exit the company immediately on tuesday..terence too..I had to handover all my work to poor lingyan..and i left on friday. The ppl remained behind are also disappointed,some having to take on 3 ppls' job. Lingyan stayed till 8-9pm these few days to read thru all my work. I feel sorry for her that she had to absorb all in 2 days. But i dun want to stay anymore longer in the company, not even 1 more day.
I don't understand these "high-flying" ppl in the company. They even held a seminar on friday to talk abt the re-organization structure in the company, inviting the retrenched in to listen. Food was even provided. Do they have brains? Do they know how to manage ppl? I stubbornly bought my own food from the foodcourt, knowing i am invited, coz i dun c the point of going in to listen to their crap.
I am considered really lucky to hav a job offer in the right time. But I feel angry for the others who are retrenched..especially Juile, who was 5 mths pregnant. Another is huarong. They expected her to work until end nov and kick her out without paying her another 1 mth compensation. Her termination letter is similar to ours, with the expected last date of service on 22nd oct.If work is hand over properly, we can leave earlier. Who are they to expect a person they retrenched to contibute longer than as stated to the company? Do they understand that she also need time to look for another job, not working like a slave to a company who retrench her?
The management is really fortunate to have them as their workers. As all are so hardworking and nice ppl. But the sad thing is they never know how to cherish their employees. I sincerely hope the others remained can find a better future elsewhere. Anywhere will be better than at there. You never know what will happen the nxt time. They may just kick them out anytime.
